Grace at work
While Pastor Brad is on vacation, we will have three weeks to consider grace at work in our lives and in the church. We’ll use Scripture from the book of Acts and look at the various ways that God’s grace acts in the lives of God’s people. We’ll also connect with our Wesleyan heritage and use language of prevenient (going before us), justifying (meeting us when we turn to meet God), and sanctifying (moving us toward Christian perfection in love).
For this first week in the series, we begin with the recognition that God’s grace is already present in the world around us, before we do a thing. We will meet Barnabas who “saw the grace of God” when he visited Antioch. There is a comfort in knowing that God got there before we did. Let us make room for gratitude and forgiveness and love because we know we are surrounded by God’s grace. Read Acts 11:23-24 to prepare.
