Mission
Aldersgate offers a variety of mission opportunities for making a difference in the lives of others. Click on any of the links below for more information.
Congregations for the Homeless
Aldersgate is a supporting church while the men are housed at nearby church, Christ the King Lutheran. Teams of Aldersgate members prepare, deliver, and serve dinners along with food for sack lunches for an entire week.
Congregations for Kids
During Vacation Bible School, we have a coin drive to raise money the Backpack program which provides over 1200 kids with backpacks filled with school supplies throughout the entire Bellevue School District.
Crossroads Dinner Program
Aldersgate Church has been providing dinners on the 4th Tuesday of each month in the Crossroads area for over 30 years. The meals serve the diverse community that surrounds Crossroads. The food is donated and served by different volunteers each month. If you are interested in getting involved, please click here or call the church office.
Crossroads Thanksgiving Community Dinner
For over 25 years, Aldersgate has been providing, preparing and serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for our community held at the Crossroads Community Center the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week.
Mini Mission Trip to Lazy F
Memorial Day weekend, several families head over to Lazy F, one of 4 UM camps in our area, to work on projects to help them enrich their camp and get ready for summer.
Overseas Missionary
Katherine T. Parker, a missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, began serving in 2013 as part of the Health Team of the United Mission to Nepal, focusing on water, sanitation, and hygiene. She previously did similar work with the Community Health and Agricultural Development program of the Methodist Mission in Cambodia.
Panera Gleaning Program
Volunteers from Aldersgate pick up leftover food from Panera that would otherwise be discarded and delivery it to several different homeless shelters in the area.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
The knitters of Aldersgate knit prayer shawls and offer them to anyone who is in the need of being comforted in a tangible prayer. There are always several available for friends, families, or visitors.

Sophia Way
Aldersgate provides meals for Sophia Way, the only shelter for homeless single women on the Eastside on the first Tuesday of the month. We also have supported this wonderful organization with clothing donations and helping with gardening projects.
Together We Build
Each year the Aldersgate community joins with Together We Build (TWB) an Interfaith Coalition of Christians, Jews, and Muslims in a unique project connected with Habitat for Humanity. This typically occurs in October over two weeks.
