Sermon: Keeping the Faith
A lot of us were children of the sixties and seventies. The byword of the time was Keep the Faith. A lot has changed and yet we fight so many of the same battles. And, indeed, Faith is still a central part of our lives, though we might characterize it differently. Faith can be defined in so many ways by so many people. Very often these days, we put faith in a wide variety of authorities, leaders and even pop culture figures. We have faith in our own assumptions and the ones we inherited from our parents. So periodically we look at what we take on faith and reexamine our assumptions. But in the midst of uncertainty, we can be sure of our faith in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ that should be the foundation from which we examine all our previous assumptions. In preparation for this week’s service, please read Hebrews 10:35-11:3.
