Youth Ministry

Aldersgate Youth

The Youth of Aldersgate are meeting weekly on Zoom at 7pm on Sunday nights during this time of Covid. There will also be limited in person events offerred with safety precautions during the fall. Please email Jen at cfm@aldersgate-church.org with any questions, to be included on weekly emails and for zoom links.

The Youth Ministry program at Aldersgate is evolving yet always remains filled with fun and purpose.  Youth Group gatherings involve get-to-know-you activities, games, adventures, and active lessons that talk about what it means to be a follower of Christ.  It is our goal to offer a safe, welcoming space for youth to come and be themselves and know they are supported and loved.

Youth are invited to attend retreats like SUMYT; a retreat with youth from around the entire greater Seattle area; Convo, an event involving hundreds of youth from the greater Northwest; a mini-mission retreat and camps for all ages.  Youth group meets every Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00pm.

In addition, the youth have a Sunday school class at 10am in the youth room and participate in many mission projects and other activities in the life of the church.  Confirmation class are offered every other year in the Spring.

Everyone is welcome so come and be a part of AUMC Youth.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12

Confirmation Class

What is Confirmation?  When many of us were babies, not all of us, but at least some, we were baptized.  At our baptism, commitments were made on our behalf regarding growing up and learning what it means to be Christian.  As we grew up, we were able to experience things for ourselves and now the decision is ours whether to become a more significant part of the church, participants in the development of our faith, and what it means to be a Christian all falls to us, and no longer to our parents.  Confirmation is that opportunity to make some decisions; to learn what it means to be followers of Jesus, and to be members of a church as the Body of Christ.  At the end of the Confirmation journey there will be a worship service celebrating all you’ve accomplished.  And you will be asked if you are ready to join the church, to “confirm for yourselves” the commitments that were made at your baptism. The next Confirmation Class will be offerred the Spring of 2022.
