We believe that God interacts with us best when we open ourselves to the Spirit. We believe God moves in and through all things, including us, always for a greater good. We believe Jesus Christ is the one we are to follow, emulate and study.
He showed us, members of Creation, that our lives are to be lived sacrificially of God and others. Our actions on this planet need to accurately reflect the actions he took; actions that very literally cost him his life. We are to worship, pray, teach, heal, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, be a voice for the voiceless, and offer the same kinds of hope, grace and acceptance he did.
There are times when we recognize that we also need to confront those whose actions cause harm. Beyond helping we seek to create change to the underlying causes of hunger, homelessness, and the imbalances that surround us. We take that call very seriously. Among the strengths of Aldersgate, is that we are diverse.
We don’t all respond the same way to the call mentioned above. We see ourselves as a place for open, safe, and sometimes lively discussion
